Gals Dig It…also known as GDI…has been live for about a year now. We have had some success, but we have also taken a few hits…especially in rankings. We still haven’t rebounded from the last hard hit in October and I am thinking that we need to change our approach or something…
So, we are asking all of you successful and opinionated bloggers out there for some advice!
What are the one or two things that you have done on your blog site that has made the biggest impact?
Do you see something on our site that is a big no no, a turn off, lacking or needs changing?
We don’t get a lot of commenter’s…do you think we need to change our writing style to be more conversational or journal like?
We really enjoy doing this, but not creating relationships through comments, emails or even rankings is becoming discouraging. We are willing to change!
Thank you in advance for any words of wisdom you are willing to share.

Hi there, I know I am not a GAL and I don’t join in on your blog but I do enjoy reading your different items. I am not sure just how you would be able to improve things or how to get more involvement on the site. You may just have to keep going for a while. One thing I have learned over the years, “Quitters never win and winners never quit” Things may turn around very soon as we all know, things change from day to day.
Keep up the good work, I am sure people are enjoying the information you send out.

I like what your site has to offer me for reading pleasure. It has different ideas than other blogging sites out there. But it’s a new year. So, I may suggest a new layout. That always seems to be a thing. I know that bucketlist lady site always changes her top picture to reflect what she did. Maybe that is an idea for you. I’m still working on getting more followers and comments myself. I think the holidays just tanked everyone.

Thanks Kristi, we will expand on our about us page and maybe do some “history” posts!

Changing up the site is a great idea too Kristi. May bring “new blood” so to speak! Thanks for your thoughtful input!

Okay, I thought of something else. There’s no real About you gals page. I want to know more about you and why you got this site up. This will help your audience connect with you so that you can build those relationships. Just a thought!

Hi – first time here! We’ve been blogging for a little over 6 months now, and so far it’s going well – so well done on making it to over a year!
I feel like we’re hardly in a place to give advice, but we are trying to join a blogger mentoring program to try and take it to the next level. Have you ever thought about anything like that?

Welcome Planting Our Pennies! Thanks for stopping by and commenting. To be honest I had not realized that blogging mentoring programs existed. Now that I know, it is definitely something I am going to look into…thanks for the advice

I’ve been blogging for a little over a year too. My blog is not very big or successful but it’s slowly growing every day. You girls have a great content and your own voice. I think it’s important to reach out to other people too – explore new blogs, comment more and be genuinely interested what other people have to say. I also noticed that bigger bloggers rarely come to your blog (not always the case) because they already have an established community but smaller bloggers want to build friendships as much as you do. Just my 2 cents. Hope it helps

Thanks Lena, point well taken regarding the smaller bloggers!
